Obituary: Anne Nhira Queen Diva
On the 11th of March, Anne Nhira popularly known as Vimbai from Studio 263, and to us Radio 54 Team and family known as Queen Diva joined our ancestors, breathed her last. Her death is a reminder of a brutal society we live in. A lost society which see it easy to end a life, to take without giving. A society she was trying to change, to give life to a new school of thought, energy and change of mentality. A society she gave wholeheartedly but like a dragon, the same society breathed back fire that stole her lovely life, put an end to a journey that was blossoming into something powerful. A weapon of change.
There is no denying that Queen Diva was a Pan African, a legend, a hero, a leader, a thought leader who stood for what she believed in. A loving soul who really gave her all in whatever she did. She managed to plant a seed of revolution, love and unity in that short period of time. She was a dedicated, devoted and disciplined broadcaster who brought smiles since she joined the team.
A remarkable person whom everyone can attest to that.
She took her time to communicate with everyone, Team and Fans, visited some in hospitals, called to uplift those facing difficult times. She was an Angel. Anne, was amazing, different, one of a kind.
Some would say this is an end to an era, an end to a beautiful life but we would love to be different, to beg to differ. To say this is the beginning of an era. The germination of a seed that she planted over the years. Her legacy shall live on. Her name shall be remembered, her works shall be carried all over the continent. Her physical unique identity might be gone, but her spirit shall rise, shall inspire millions of people to be good, do good, do what’s right, love and unite for the better good.
Oh yes, they say death is not our biggest loss
Oh yea we agree
The biggest loss is however what we are losing while still living!
It’s Life, a sister, a daughter, a mother, an auntie, a life awaiting to spread its wings, to reach the skies.
As Radio 54 we say,
Robala ka kgotso
Lala Kahle dade wethu
Rarai zvakanaka Vatete
Sleep well Queen Diva
We loved you
We still do
You will be forever missed.
You served your purpose
Accepted your calling at a young age
Became a messenger, delivered God’s message in a unique way, though art, leadership, broadcasting
We celebrate you Queen
To the family we say, deepest condolences, thank you for raising such a beautiful soul. Be comforted. We are family and we will always be here.
To the Youth:
Learn from her journey
Hear what she is saying to you
Put an end to crime, to violence
Let there be no other death like this.
Tap into her anointing
Her energy and fight to be the best in whatever you do
Its possible, you are possible
To our African leaders:
How many of our young leaders should we lose in this way
Until when will we watch criminals do as they please
We want justice
We want to feel safe
Put a stop to this!
