Mapeza Rejoins FC Platinum
Former Zimbabwe National Football Team Coach, Norman ‘Nomara’ Mapeza has bounced back as FC Platinum coach after the defending premier league champions decided to part ways with Pieter De Jongh.
Mapeza is back at Pure Platinum Play hardly a year after leaving the Zvishavane based club.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Platinum Boys confirmed the appointment saying they are pleased to have reunited with Norman Mapeza, who has been tasked with taking the team forward. The statement added that Mapeza has a proven record of success with the club having won two PSL titles in addition to leading the CAF Champions League charge.
The former Warriors coach was unattached to any side since his departure at South African side, Chippa United in February.
His move to TTM in September fell through on the eleventh hour after disagreements with the Club Executive over undisclosed issues.
It’s official, Norman Mapeza bounces back as FC Platinum coach to replace Dutch mentor Pieter De Jongh.
The club confirmed in a statement released Friday. FC Platinum also confirmed that they had parted ways with De Jongh amicably as the Dutchman had been barred from sitting on the bench during CAF inter-club matches because he does not possess the required CAF A Licence. He only holds a UEFA A certificate which falls short.
