Sadio Mane deserves best player award-Aubameyang
Gabonese and Arsenal Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is disillusioned by the non recognition of Liverpool and Senegalese striker Sadio Mane as either Players Player of the Year or Premiership Footballler of the Year during this ended English football season. The PFA player of the year award was instead given to Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson. The 2015 African Footballler of the Year who led Arsenal to their record 14th FA CUP with a double that sunk Chelsea in the final appreciates his fellow African star and reigning African Footballler of the Year Sadio Mane whom he believes was the reason Liverpool are current English Premiership Champions.
Aubameyang insisted, “I don’t usually talk on behalf of anyone, but I see a need to stand for Sadio Mane who deserves at least a reward for his great season. I must say it is very disappointing to witness him walking away empty handed. I don’t know what criteria they use to award the Awards, but I believe am not the only one who feels Mane should have won an individual Award in Premier league this season. When you look at Liverpool victories, Mane was a driving force behind that. Am not bias or something, but it is the facts.”
The English football awards system is littered with controversy as many fans believe there is bias towards English players.
